WOODBRIDGE — A month-long narcotics investigation by the Woodbridge Police Department’s Special Investigation Unit led to the seizure of a large quantity of drugs and cash with a street value of $33,000.
A 24-year-old township man was also charged with allegedly dealing drugs throughout the township as a result of the investigation, according to Police Lt. Brian Murphy.
Detectives began the investigation after discovering the man was allegedly dealing controlled dangerous substances (CDS) throughout the Woodbridge, Murphy said in a release dated Dec. 11.
The detectives then conducted extensive surveillance of the suspect, gathering enough information to execute a search of his home on Coley Street, police said.
The search resulted in the discovery of approximately 600 bags of heroin, 130 grams of cocaine, five pounds of marijuana and cash believed to be proceeds of the distribution of the controlled dangerous substances.
The suspect was charged with distribution of heroin, distribution of cocaine, distribution of marijuana, possession of CDS, possession of marijuana, possession of CDS in a school zone and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to police.
The suspect was processed and was transferred to the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center in North Brunswick. No bail was set.
