MANALAPAN – Vehicles in the Holiday North residential development near Route 9 and Franklin Lane were the targets for criminals on Dec. 20.
Manalapan police reported two incidents of burglary to a motor vehicle and the theft of property.
At 10 a.m., officers responded to a home on Locust Grove Lane to investigate a report of a motor vehicle burglary and theft.
Police said a resident of Manalapan reported that her vehicle was burglarized sometime between 2:30 p.m. Dec.19 and 7:55 a.m. Dec. 20 by unknown individuals. The vehicle was left unlocked with the key fobs inside. The perpetrators stole a key fob, $80 in cash and a New Jersey driver’s license. The incident was handled by Patrolman Joseph DeFilippis.
At 4:25 p.m., officers responded to a home on Willow Grove Way to investigate a report of a motor vehicle burglary.
Police said a resident of Manalapan reported that both of his vehicles were burglarized during the overnight hours of Dec. 19-20. The resident said unknown individuals opened both vehicles.
Items reported missing in this incident were a wallet containing a driver’s license, as well as debit cards, cigarettes and $275 in cash. The incident was handled by Patrolman Christopher Makwinski.
In another incident reported by police:
• At 12:20 a.m. Dec. 21, Patrolman Matthew Mattia was on patrol when he observed two vehicles involved in a motor vehicle accident at Route 33 and Woodward Road.
An investigation revealed that one driver, a 29-year-old male resident of Allentown, was allegedly driving while intoxicated. The man was arrested and issued summonses for DWI, careless driving, failure to possess a valid registration, failure to possess a valid insurance card and failure to change his address. He was processed and released. Police said the case is pending court.
