MILLSTONE – The appointments of professionals who will work for Millstone Township and residents who will serve in volunteer positions have been made by the Township Committee for 2018.
The appointments were made at the committee’s reorganization meeting on Jan. 3.
As professionals, the committee appointed Robert Munoz as township attorney, Michael Steib as special counsel for affordable housing proceedings, Robert Allison as township auditor, Fred Heyer as township planner, Susan Solda De Simone as township prosecutor, Raymond Raya as township public defender, and Donna Blaze as affordable housing administrator. Heyer was also appointed as the township’s Council on Affordable Housing representative.
Through resolutions, Kathleen Hart was appointed deputy municipal clerk and registrar. Maria Dellasala, who is the township clerk and township administrator, was appointed as alternate registrar, purchasing official and as the township’s qualified purchasing agent.
Lorraine Maher, who was appointed as deputy registrar of vital statistics, was also appointed alongside Dellasala as community development representatives.
Amanda Salerno was appointed as purchasing agent, public agency compliance officer and treasurer. Dan Specht, who is the head of the code enforcement and public works departments, was appointed code enforcement officer and recycling coordinator.
Tom Dancer was appointed Monmouth County Agriculture Development Board representative, Dawn Wattai was appointed violations clerk, Margaret Patterson was appointed coordinator between the township and the Office of Aging, and Joann Kelty was appointed as the township’s historian.
Township Committeeman Michael Kuczinski was appointed as Millstone’s 911 coordinator and Office of Emergency Management coordinator.
Mayor Gary Dorfman appointed Chris Pepe and Rose Oxley to four-year terms on the Planning Board and Stacie Curtis to a two-year term as an alternate member on the board.
One seat on the board is held by the mayor or a mayor’s appointment for a one-year term and Dorfman appointed Township Committeeman Fiore Masci to serve in that capacity. Township Committeewoman Nancy Grbelja was also appointed to the Planning Board.
To the Zoning Board of Adjustment, where appointments are made by the mayor, Dorfman appointed Steve Lambros to a four-year term as a regular member and Al Ferro to a two-year term as an alternate member.
Dorfman also made appointments to the Environmental Commission, the Recreation Commission and the Historic Preservation Commission.
Renee Peerboom, Doug Lischick and Eric Davis were appointed to three-year terms as members, and Nick Frost was appointed to two-year term as an alternate member on the Environmental Commission, with Davis appointed to a one-year term as chairman.
On the Recreation Commission, Sharon Peake was appointed to a five-year term as a regular member and Jennifer Casale was appointed to a five-year term as an alternate member.
Pam Teel, Michael Leaming and Marcy Havens Leaming were appointed to four-year terms as members of the Historic Preservation Commission, and Julia Carr Vincent was appointed to a two-year term as an alternate member.
