Groundhog Day repeats on Feb. 2 in Milltown

SCOTT FRIEDMAN
Wrangler John McNamara introduces Mel to the crowd while fellow wrangler Jerry Guthlein looks on as the Milltown Wranglers get set to hear Milltown Mel's weather prognostication on Groundhog Day. Mel did not see his shadow and therefore remained out of his hole, predicting an early spring in 2018.

The Borough of Milltown will hold its annual Groundhog Day celebration beginning at 7 a.m. on Feb. 2 at American Legion Post 25, 4 JFK Drive, Milltown.

The Milltown Groundhog Wrangler featuring Milltown Mel will be the host to the festivities. Mel will make his prediction at daybreak, around 7:20 a.m.

The public is invited to attend. Bring noisemakers to help wake up Mel.

Coffee and donuts will be served at the legion afterward.
