Mayor of Middletown Township Stephanie Murray (left) talks with a group of high school students during the Running and Winning Workshop held at Monmouth Regional High School in Tinton Falls on April 17. The workshop, sponsored by the League of Women Voters, aimed at encouraging young women to run for political office. It brings together local women legislators on the county, state and local levels with high school students.
The South Brunswick Parent Academy (SBPA) will hold its next workshop, “Mindfulness: Change Your Mindset, Change Your Life” from 7-8:30 p.m. on Feb. 1 at Crossroads North Middle School, 635 Georges Road, Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick.
Following up on last year’s successful heartfulness workshop, this workshop will continue the focus on strategies parents and children can employ to not only increase mindfulness, but also reduce stress in their daily lives. It will offer hands-on strategies that will help participants develop skills and practices that will lead to clarity of mind, increased focus, self-confidence, empathy and awareness; not only beneficial to students’ growth and success, but to parents’ as well.
Ten attendees will receive a copy of the workshop companion reading “Unselfie” by Michele Borba.

All workshops are provided free of charge, and childcare can be provided for children over 3.
