According to the State Agricultural Development Committee (SADC), the Right to Farm program works with and educates farmers, residents and municipalities about the Right to Farm Act, the act’s formal conflict resolution process, and additional strategies for resolving agriculture-related disputes and supporting a positive agricultural business environment.

The act protects responsible commercial farms from public and private nuisance actions and unduly restrictive municipal regulations, according to the SADC.

Organizers said the event will cover basic information that will be beneficial to municipal officials, local farmers and neighbors. Speakers will highlight sample cases from around the state. County staff members will explain the role of the Monmouth County Agriculture Development Board and answer questions.

To RSVP for the event or to check the program’s status in the event of inclement weather, contact Sean Pizzio at 732-431-7460, ext. 5740, or email Sean.Pizzio@co.monmouth.nj.us
