Metuchen native graduates from basic military training

United States Air Force Airman Daniel M. Flaherty graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Flaherty is the son of Margarita Lopez and Arthur Flaherty Sr., step-son of Lisette Flaherty, and grandson of Wynnifred Flaherty, and Robert Flaherty Sr., all of Metuchen, and grandson of Milagros Lopez of West New York. He is also the brother of Kelcey Flaherty, Arthur Flaherty Jr., Kylie Flaherty and Leslie Flaherty.

The airman is a 2017 graduate of Metuchen High School, Metuchen.
