The Unitarian Society of East Brunswick will hold a panel discussion informing the community about the Van Wickle Slave Ring of 1818, how nearly 100 enslaved African Americans were sent into permanent bondage by Judge Jacob Van Wickle, and the victims of white supremacy, during a presentation from 7-9 p.m. on Feb. 17 at the congregation, 176 Tices Lane, East Brunswick.

A panel discussion will be led by Richard Walling, local historian; Kirstin O-Brassill-Kulfan, public historian and scholar of early American social history at Rutgers University; and Derek Davis, member of the Camden County Historical Society. A representative of the New Brunswick NAACP is also expected to participate.
