Police lieutenant will serve as 911 coordinator in Allentown

ALLENTOWN – Lt. Daniel Panckeri of the Allentown Police Department has been appointed to serve as Allentown’s 911 coordinator during 2018. Panckeri’s appointment was one of many that were made by the Borough Council during meetings in January.

Other appointments include June Madden as treasurer and chief financial officer, Sandra Brodbeck as court administrator, and Alice Stanhope, Jeffrey Fenton, Robert J. Cole, Alex Nebbia, Kris Smith and Eugene Staubilis as crossing guards.

And, Nicholas Pellichero as Department of Public Works supervisor and recycling and Clean Communities coordinator, Debbie Minick as drug alliance coordinator, and Robert J. Cole, Carol A. Cole, Jay Davidson, Jeffrey S. Fenton, Roberta L. Fenton, Ed Gensinger, Michael Kamer, Steve Mikulas, Tom Monahan, Alex Nebbia, Alice Stanhope, George Stillwell, Cindy Van Pelt and Dave Zarish as fire police.

Laurie Gavin, who is Allentown’s municipal clerk, was appointed by Mayor Greg Wesfall and the council to serve as the borough’s public information officer.

In other business, the council:

• Accepted Robert Kline’s resignation from the Shade Tree Commission

• Accepted Ann Garrison’s resignation from the Mayor’s Traffic Ad Hoc Committee and from the Regional Traffic Subcommittee

• Accepted Peter Russo’s resignation from the Environmental Commission

• Accepted Viki Toor’s resignation from the Economic Development Commission

• Appointed Elaine Saullo to the Mayor’s Traffic Ad Hoc Committee

• Appointed B.J. Horner to the Mayor’s Senior Citizen Ad Hoc Committee

The council will meet at 7 p.m. on the following dates at the municipal building: Feb. 13 (budget workshop at 5:30 p.m.), Feb. 27, March 13 (budget introduction), March 27, April 10 (budget adoption), April 24, May 8, May 22, June 12, July 10, Aug. 14, Sept. 11, Sept. 25, Oct. 9, Oct. 23, Nov. 13, Nov. 27 and Dec. 11.
