Appointments have been made to the Upper Freehold Regional School District by the Board of Education for the year.
The appointments were made at the board’s annual reorganization meeting on Jan. 3.
The board made the following one-year appointments for 2018:
- Business Administrator Margaret Hom to the positions of board secretary, purchase compliance officer for AA, custodian of records, and School Alliance Insurance Fund coordinator;
- Superintendent of Schools Richard Fitzpatrick to the position of alternate custodian of records;
- Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Mark Guterl to the positions of affirmative action officer, HIB coordinator, BSI representative and contact, and Title IX coordinator;
- Director of Special Services Patrick Leary to the positions of 504 officer, homeless liaison, ADA officer, custodian of student records, and SEMI coordinator;
- Stone Bridge Vice Principal Brian Myslinski to the positions of safety health designee, and school safety specialist;
- Student assistance counselor Dana Bannon to the position of substance awareness coordinator;
- Director of Buildings and Grounds Hersey Mayeux to the positions of Abestos Hazard Emergency Response Act designated person, indoor air quality designated person, right to know/hazardous communication designated person, integrated pest management coordinator, and chemical hygiene officer;
- Guidance department administrative assistants Dawne Baker and Stacia Essl to the position of issuing officers for work papers;
- Board member Michele Anthony to the position of New Jersey School Boards Association (NJSBA) delegate;
- Board member Howard Krieger to the position of NJBSA alternate.
Myslinski, Guterl and information security manager Ryan Gaum were also appointed to the position of school safety, best practice and emergency management team leaders.
Additionally, the board approved Fitzpatrick as the district’s representative to the Monmouth County Educational Services Commission for 2018 and the district’s LEA representative; Hom as district purchasing agent, to sell solar renewable credits on behalf of the district, and to be designated as the board’s claim’s auditor; the firm Brown and Brown Benefits as the district’s employee benefits broker; Gallagher O’Gorman and Young as the district’s insurance broker for property, casualty and workers compensation insurance; the firm Wilentz, Goldman and Spitzer, P.A., Anthony Panella, Esq., as bond counsel for 2018; James Nichols and Steven Siegel as architects of record for 2018; and the district’s participation in the inner district public schools choice program, with a limit of acceptance of 105 students.
The board also approved Fogarty and Hara, Counselors at Law, as district solicitor for 2018 at a rate of $175 an hour for a partner and $155 for an associate; Bradley Sclar of the firm Sclar and Sclar, LLC as the district’s attorney for facility and construction matters at an hourly rate of $160 and $65 for paralegal time for 2018; Rodney Haines of the firm Holman Frenia Allison, P.C. as district auditor through June 2018 at a contract not to exceed $34,800; and Mary K. Lyons of the firm Phoenix Advisors, Inc., as the disclosure agent and municipal advisor for 2018.
Upper Freehold Regional is comprised of Newell Elementary School, Stone Bridge Middle School and Allentown High School, and serves school-age residents of Upper Freehold Township and Allentown. Through a send-receive relationship with the Millstone Township K-8 School District, students of high school age in Millstone Township also attend Allentown High School.
