Wake up with your ‘signature smile’

Millions of Americans are suffering from tooth loss, mostly due to tooth decay,
periodontal disease, or trauma. For many years, the only treatment options available for
people with missing teeth were bridges and dentures.

But, today in 2018, dental
implants are available and they are great! At Signature Smiles at Edison, we will
determine if you are a candidate for a dental implant. We will conduct a thorough
comprehensive examination and review your medical and dental history, and create a
treatment plan using 3D X-rays to place the most accurate dental implants.

I’m Dr. Shah and owner of Signature Smiles. I studied at New York University College of
Dentistry focusing on Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry. Along the way, I’ve learned that
alleviating patient anxiety and fear helps provide the best treatment outcome. At my
practice, we make getting dental implant surgery easy, pain-free, and affordable! We
provide everything from laughing gas to general/deep sedation to make your procedure
as comfortable as possible.

In my experience of practice, I have learned that extensive tooth loss can have a
negative impact on the general health and quality of life of every patient. The best part
about dental implants is that they give the patient versatility for tooth replacement.
A single tooth dental implant may be preferable over a fixed bridge that is attached to
two or more teeth. A fixed bridge is supported by other teeth and requires cutting down
normal healthy teeth to support a cemented bridge. In this case, the jawbone can begin
to resorb and, therefore, deteriorate. A dental implant, on the other hand, will be placed
into the jawbone to serve as a root for the missing tooth. This can also help to preserve
the bone.

Many denture patients are likely candidates for dental implants. After carefully
examining the bone quality and utilizing x-rays, typically 4 implants are placed to
provide the best retention of a full denture. The implants fuse to the bone, providing
stability for the dentures so the patient can eat and speak without experiencing
movement of the denture in his or her mouth.

Regular dental care has a profound effect on your likelihood of keeping your teeth. As
an added bonus, if anything unusual happens to your teeth, such as sudden pain or
injury, then you already know exactly where to come. If you experience any tooth
damage or pain, come to our office as soon as possible to take care of the problem. We
know dental treatment comes with fear, anxiety, and budget concerns, but here at
Signature Smiles we will go at your pace and take great care of you.
