Metuchen to hold ice cream day, immigrant rally on Feb. 3

International Eat Ice Cream for Breakfast Day will be celebrated on Feb. 3 with a special event hosted by What’s the Scoop, 410 Main St., Metuchen, from 8 a.m. to noon.

Donuts will be available from Buttery Bake Shoppe and coffee will be available from Cai’s Café.

In addition, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., local community groups will rally support around local immigrant families who were detained last week at Cai’s Cafe, 420 Main St. The event will include a postcard writing event; tweet storm; and fundraiser with lawn signs, posters and free gift classes from area fitness studios with donations.
