Boy Scout Troop 53, of Fords, will be celebrating its 75th Anniversary on April 14, 2018. All alumni are invited to attend the 75th Anniversary celebration at Our Lady of Peace Church, 620 Amboy Ave.
The Troop was chartered to Our Lady of Peace Church in Fords on April 14, 1943 and has been part of the parish serving the Fords and Clara Barton neighborhoods ever since. Hundreds of young men have passed through the troop over that time with 101 achieving the rank of Eagle. Only six percent of all youth who enter Boy Scouts attain Eagle.
