Gallery at Middlesex County College to feature photos of Auschwitz

An exhibit on loan from the Museum of Jewish Heritage will focus on Oświęcim, Poland – the town the Germans called Auschwitz – through photographs that trace the life of the town and its Jewish residents, from the 16th century through the post-war period.

The exhibit is open weekdays through March 9, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays, and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fridays.

A special reception will be at 2 p.m. Feb. 8 in the Studio Theatre Gallery on the college’s main campus, 2600 Woodbridge Ave., Edison.

The exhibit is called “A Town Known as Auschwitz: The Life and Death of a Jewish Community.” The program is supported with funds from the New Jersey Council for the Humanities and The Holocaust and Human Rights Center at MCC.
