Pedestrian suffers broken bones during hit-and-run in North Brunswick

NORTH BRUNSWICK – A male who was struck by a car sustained significant injuries, including several broken bones.

The pedestrian was struck on Route 130 near Apple Orchard Lane around 1:30 a.m. on Feb. 14, according to information provided by the North Brunswick Police Department. He was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick .

The early investigation revealed the pedestrian was reportedly walking on the far right side of the shoulder along Route 130 northbound when he was struck by a vehicle. The vehicle reportedly threw the pedestrian onto the grass along the side of the highway, and then continued northbound, police said. The pedestrian remained there until he could get a passerby’s attention and have police called.

The vehicle is a silver-colored vehicle, and should be missing the silver covering of the passenger-side mirror, police said. There may also be other passenger-side damage.
