Democracy House students from Woodbridge, Edison discuss how to overcome obstacles during Young Men’s Conference

Middlesex County College (MCC) students Angel Chang of Woodbridge, left to right, Luke Agojo of Edison, Romone Reid of Piscataway and Kevin Wong of Edison presented their workshop, “Overcoming Obstacles: Personal Stories of Perseverance,” at the annual Young Men’s Conference in New Brunswick in January. The four are part of Democracy House, MCC’s volunteer-service program. The Young Men’s Conference provides opportunities for attendees to engage with community leaders, educators and mentors through an array of wellness and leadership workshops. After their workshop, the MCC leaders chatted with participants. The conference was attended by more than 200 young men from Middlesex County high schools and organized by The Young Men’s Conference Planning Committee. It was sponsored by Middlesex County, Empower Somerset, Southern Middlesex County Federal Teachers Credit Union, New Brunswick Tomorrow and Mobile Family Success of Middlesex County.
