Officers were dispatched to a reported burglary that had just taken place at a home on North Oaks Boulevard in the early afternoon of Feb. 21, with the suspect allegedly running from the scene after being confronted, according to information provided by the North Brunswick Police Department.

An individual who matched the suspect’s description was seen entering a nearby unit. Upon responding to that location, detectives were able to make contact with the residents, and one was identified and taken into custody as the burglar from earlier, according to reports.

The 52-year-old township resident was charged with burglary, robbery and theft. He was taken to the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center pending court.

The burglary proceeds were recovered and returned to the rightful owner, police said.
