On March 19, 2015, the Marine Band performed at Messiah College in Mechnicsburg, Pa. The program, conducted by Lt. Col. Jason K. Fettig, included music by Samuel Jones, David Conte, Maurice Ravel, Bernard Hermann, John Philip Sousa, and John Williams. The concert was a part of the National Trumpet Competition and also featured guest soloist John Rommel performing David Gillingham’s When Speaks the Signal-Trumpet Tone. The John P. Stevens High School Jazz Ensemble will perform side-by-side with world-class jazz trumpeter Ingrid Jensen at 7:30 p.m. on March 28 at Trumpets Jazz Club, 6 Depot Square, Montclair.
The evening’s performance will also feature JPS drummer and GRAMMY Band award winner, Varun Das.
