Thousands of dogs to compete in March Madness-type competition March 23-25 in Edison

Dogs and their owners stroll down Front Street during ‘Dog’s Night Out’ held in downtown Keyport on June 29. Residents of Keyport will enjoy a night out with their dogs, complete with local vendors, live entertainment, and a farmer's market. A special viewing of the film "A Dog's Purpose" will also be shown on West Front Street.

More than 4,000 dogs in more than 180 different breeds will compete on March 23-25 in the March Madness Cluster Weekend at the N.J. Convention & Expo Center at Raritan Center, 97 Sunfield Ave., Edison.

The cluster is organized by the New Brunswick Kennel Club and the Bronx County Kennel Club in guidance with the American Kennel Club rules and regulations.

The dogs will be evaluated by judges from around the world.

All shows begin at 8 a.m. and go until Best In Show is awarded at approximately 5 p.m.

Vendors will sell canine and human items. Food available for purchase. Free parking.

Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors age 65 and older, or $2 for children under 10.

No baby/child strollers allowed, nor any dogs that are not entered in the shows.

Funds raised will benefit various dog-related charities, NBKC scholarship fund and medical research related to the health and well-being of all dogs.
