Greek Orthodox Church to hold fashion show April 26

The Philoptochos Society of The Kimisis Tis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church will hold the annual “Sparkle In Spring” dinner/fashion show on April 26 at Gramercy Lakeside Manor in Hazlet.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the evening event beginning promptly at 7.

In accordance with the church’s philanthropic society, all proceeds from the evening will directly benefit Camp Oakhurst, a program dedicated to providing services to adults and children living with special needs.

Along with the donation to Camp Oakhurst, a portion of the evening’s funds will be used to provide service dogs to children living with autism.

According to the organization, the Greek word ‘Philoptochos’ translates to ‘friends of the poor.’

We aid the poor, the destitute, the hungry and the widowed through our fundraising efforts,” said Chapter President Mary Loizou.

The annual fashion show marks the largest fundraising effort of the year, according to a member of the church.

The evening’s fashion will be provided by Manalapan formal wear boutique, Castle Couture.

“We are very excited to showcase Castle Coutures’ exquisite formal wear modeled by our very own,” said Loizou. “Our Fashion Shows have always been a highly anticipated event that draws over 300 guests. Everyone is sure to have a great time.”

Tickets are $70 per person and include an open bar, cocktail hour, dinner, and dessert.

Raffles, as well as a luxury gift auction, will also be held.
