Old Bridge Library to hold college-prep workshops

The Old Bridge Library will sponsor programs for college and graduate school bound-students.

“The Path Towards College” will take place at 7 p.m. on April 5. College GPS will explain the benefits of early college planning. Attendees will learn when to get started, how to select colleges, and strategies for saving money and taking advantage of financial aid. The program is best suited to families of middle schoolers through high school juniors.

“Planning for Graduate School” will be held at 7 p.m. on April 9. Representatives from Georgian Court University will present a workshop examining the steps necessary for applying to a master’s degree program. Topics will include navigating the application process, searching for the right school and financial aid options. A question-and-answer session will follow.

“The Path Towards College for STEM Majors” will be held at 7 p.m. on May 2. College GPS will focus on the pursuit of science, technology, engineering and math careers. This session will cover what colleges look for in STEM students, how to increase acceptance chances, testing strategies, how the college application process differs for health professions, and an overview of the financial aid process. This material covered in this workshop is suitable for families of middle schoolers through high school juniors.
