The Old Bridge Library will present three unique programs in April, ranging from Jewish history to home organization to an open mic event.
“What to Do With All the Stuff” will be held at 2 p.m. on April 8. Jamie Novak will share tips on how to get rid of papers, weed through boxes of photographs and utilize simple organizing tools.
An afternoon open mic and Coffee House event will be held from 2-4 p.m. on April 15. Aspiring singers, songwriters and spoken word artists are invited to sign up to perform, and the public is encouraged to attend. Refreshments will be served. Registration is required for performers, either in-person, at the library’s Information Desk, or by calling 732-721-5600, ext. 5033. Space is limited. Material must be suitable for all ages.
“From Shtetl to Ghetto: Jewish Women on the Lower East Side” will be held at 7 p.m. on April 26. The presentation explores how immigrants eventually profited from more opportunities, yet suffered in their personal lives. The lecture will be presented by Leslie Fishbein, associate professor of American Studies at Rutgers University, and affiliated faculty member of Jewish Studies, Urban Studies, Cinema Studies, and Women’s and Gender Studies.
