Son of World War II rescuer to speak during Yom HaShoah observance in Monroe

The Henry Ricklis Holocaust Memorial Committee of Monroe Township will hold a Yom HaShoah observance, “We Are All Jews,” at 1 p.m. on April 22 at Monroe Township Middle School, 1629 Perrineville Road, Monroe. There will be a candle lighting at 12:30 p.m.

Sgt. Roddie Edmonds is the first American serviceman from World War II to be recognized as Righteous Among the Nations for rescuing Jewish servicemen from a POW camp in Germany. Edmonds’s son, Pastor Chris Edmonds, will be the keynote speaker.
