Rally to oppose new gas pipeline set for May 2 in Somerset

Williams-Transco Company is seeking to build a 32,000 horsepower gas compressor station near residential areas of South Brunswick and Franklin Park. The plan will affect the surrounding towns of Kingston, Monmouth Junction, Kingston, Kendall Park and Princeton.

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has scheduled a public hearing to gather input on its recently issued draft Environmental Impact Statement from 5-9 p.m. on May 2 at the Franklin Township Community Center, 505 Demott Lane, Somerset.

Community members are urged to attend.
