Woman dies in multi-vehicle crash in South Brunswick

 

SOUTH BRUNSWICK – A fatal crash in South Brunswick involving several vehicles resulted in the death of one driver.

South Brunswick police responded to the intersection of routes 535 and 32 around 6:49 p.m. on April 30.

The preliminary investigation indicates Ming Xiong, 60, of Plainsboro, was driving a 2007 Toyota Corolla and was stopped at a red traffic signal on Route 32 West at the intersection of Route 535, according to a statement provided by the South Brunswick Police Department.

A 41-year-old male from South River was driving a 2002 Mini Cooper on Route 32 West and was approaching the intersection of Route 535 when his vehicle struck the rear of Xiong’s vehicle, according to reports.

As a result of the crash, Xiong succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. There is no further information about the circumstances of the crash.

Three additional vehicles were also involved in the crash, which occurred after the initial impact to Xiong’s vehicle, police said.

The Cranbury Police Department, Monroe Police Department, New Jersey State Police, Monmouth Junction Fire Department, Cranbury Fire Department, Monmouth Junction EMS, Plainsboro EMS, and Monroe EMS assisted at the scene.
