East Brunswick Library holds technology series

The 452 students at St. Francis Cathedral will be able to utilize 28 new all-in-one desktops that include an Intel Core i5 processor, 8 gigabyte of RAM, 64-bit OS and a 19.5 inch LCD touch screen during computer class with Technology teacher Laura Hopkins.

The East Brunswick Library will sponsor its “Wired Wednesdays” program series at 7 p.m. on May 23 and June 27, at the library, 2 Jean Walling Civic Center, East Brunswick.

Guest presenter Beth Ritter-Guth is the director of Instructional Design and director of American Honors at Union County College.

She will demonstrate how free online services like Google Maps and Google Earth can be used to create virtual tours, ranging from vacation plans to historical journeys, on May 23.

On June 27, the program will demonstrate how participants can make augmented reality cards using the Aurasma software and a cellphone. Augmented reality enhances reality by using special software to overlay digital information onto an image.

Program attendees must bring their smartphone.

“Wired Wednesdays” programs are free and open to the public.
