Middlesex County American Legion announces student contest winners

The awards for the 2018 Middlesex County American Legion Safety Poster, Coloring and Oratorical contests were presented by County Commander Gary Cooper on May 5 at American Legion Post 65 in Metuchen. First place winner of the Coloring Contest was Amaar Halani of Woodbridge, sponsored by Post 87. First place for the Safety Poster went to Samuel Gonzalez, and the second place winner was Angelina Tufaro, both from Dunellen and sponsored by Post 119. Additionally, Amaar was the state American Legion first place winner. Oratorical Contest winner was Ria Patel of Monroe, sponsored by Post 522, who placed second in the state.
