The Monmouth County SPCA held its 28th annual Dog Walk and Pet Fair at Brookdale Community College in Lincroft.

The annual springtime event, held on April 28, featured local vendors, music, food, contests and an on site pet adoption.

The Monmouth County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated toward the protection of abused, homeless and neglected animals, according to the non-profit organization.

Jannine Heaton, a resident of Highlands and who has attended the   Dog Walk and Pet Fair for 10 years, said she looks forward to the event each year.

“Pinky (the dog) comes with us every year. We love coming here for the day with Pinky,” Heaton said.

All proceeds from the event will directly benefit MCSPCA shelter animals, according to the organization.
