South Amboy cancels Memorial Day parade

**NOTE: The Memorial Day Parade on May 19 has been canceled due to the weather.

South Amboy will hold its annual Memorial Day parade on May 19, rain or shine, beginning at the Knights of Columbus building on 4th Street at 11 a.m. The parade will begin at noon and proceed down Stevens Avenue to John Street and up Broadway to South Amboy City Hall.

A memorial service to honor individuals who died while serving in the nation’s armed forces will be held at City Hall following the parade.

In addition to the parade, American Legion Post 62 will hold memorial visits at the following sites on May 27: Gazebo on Bordentown Avenue and Catherine Street, 9 a.m.; Christ Church Cemetery, South Pine Avenue; Morgan Cemetery, Johnson’s Lane, Parlin; Morgan Explosion Cemetery; Sacred Heart Cemetery; Benjamin Sebban Monument at Waterfront Park; South Amboy boat ramp; American Legion Post 62, David Street.
