Edison Military History Day set for June 9

The Manalapan Veterans Affairs hosted the Ocean County Society of Model Railroader's Train Show at the Manalapan Community Center on March 18. Military equipment was on display at the Train Show.

The Edison Main Public Library has partnered with the Metuchen-Edison Historical Society to offer, for the first time, Edison Military History Day from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on June 9 at the library, 340 Plainfield Ave., Edison.

The event will consist of a 30-minute interactive presentation at 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Attendees will also have the opportunity to view old photographs of Raritan Arsenal, Camp Kilmer and other sites. Maps, artifacts and displays about World War I will also be available to view as well. Members of the Metuchen-Edison Historical Society will answer questions and share stories.

The event is free and is open to all ages.Light refreshments will be served.
