North Brunswick Walmart celebrates expansion into Supercenter

Following a two-year expansion project, the Walmart location in North Brunswick Plaza, 979 Route 1 south, North Brunswick, is now a 24-hour Supercenter.

The store features nearly 190,000 square feet of total retail space, including Walmart Garden Center, Walmart Money Center, Walmart Pharmacy, Walmart Photo Center, Walmart Vision & Glasses, ATM Walmart, Coinstar and a McDonald’s.

Free, online grocery pickup will be available within the coming weeks. The program enables customers to order groceries online, and then pick them up at the time of their choosing, without leaving their cars, at no additional cost.

To mark the expansion, Walmart contributed $1,000 each to John Adams Elementary School in North Brunswick; the food and hunger program at New Creation of the Apostolic Faith Inc. Church, New Brunswick High School; and North Brunswick Township High School.

The store employs more than 400 full- and part-time associates. During the expansion project, Walmart filled more than 150 new positions.
