HILLSBOROUGH: 19-year-old dies in motor vehicle accident

An early morning accident on Willow Road ultimately claimed the life of a 19-year-old Belle Mead driver, leaving the Hillsborough Township Police Department to figure out exactly what transpired before the crash.

According to the police, Chase M. Coram was traveling south along Willow Road just before 6 a.m. on Saturday, May 19 when the 2015 Toyota Scion FRS he was driving left the roadway and struck a tree approximately one-tenth of a mile south of Kilmer Drive.

The Hillsborough Police Department, Montgomery Police Department, Robert Wood Johnson Rescue Squad and the Hillsborough Fire Company responded to the scene.

Coram was transported to the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

As a result of the accident, Willow Road was closed in both directions for approximately two hours as officials investigated the crash.
