Allentown residents may comment on master plan

ALLENTOWN – During its regular meeting at 7 p.m. June 4, the Allentown Planning Board will hold a public hearing on the borough’s proposed master plan. The master plan has been prepared for the board by Thomas A. Thomas and T. Andrew Thomas of Thomas Planning Associates, the board’s planners.

The public hearing will be held in the main meeting room at the municipal building, 8 N. Main St.

A master plan is the document that guides the growth and development of a municipality.

According to a notice issued by the Planning Board, a full copy of the proposed report will be on file at the borough clerk’s office in the municipal building at least 10 days prior to the public hearing, and may be inspected and copied during normal business hours, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.

A copy of the report will also be available for review and downloading on the borough’s official website at www.allentownboronj.com

During the public hearing, any interested individuals may ask questions about and present comments in support of, or in opposition to, the proposed reports. Board members may act on the plan at the close of the public hearing on June 4 or they may continue the hearing to another date, according to the legal notice.
