SCOTT FRIEDMAN
"Thunder", an authentic reindeer from NJ enhanced the Holiday Knight Toy Drive, held in memory of Marisa Tufaro, 13, who died in January from cancer as Old Bridge hosted South Brunswick on Sept. 8. South Brunswick won 35 - 6.

The Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Middlesex County will present “Deer Resistant Gardens with Native Plants” from 10 a.m. to noon on June 9 at the EARTH Center, located in Davidson’s Mill Pond Park, 42 Riva Ave., South Brunswick.

Learn strategies that will help deter deer from dining on vegetable gardens and landscape plantings.

In honor of Native Plant Appreciation Month, these tips will include information on plants that are not only beautiful and deer-proof, but are also native to the area.

The workshop is free, but registration is required by June 6 by calling 732-398-5262. For more information, visit www.middlesexcountynj.gov and search “extension”.
