Used bicycles, sewing machines will be delivered to children in third world countries

Pedals for Progress will hold its annual bicycle and sewing machine drive from noon to 3 p.m. on June 10, rain or shine, at South Brunswick High School on the gym parking lot side, 750 Ridge Road, Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick.

Bicycles will be sent to children in Nicaragua, Ghana, Albania, Fiji and Guatemala. Bikes should be rust free. Tricycles are not acceptable, but bicycles with flat tires in need of some repair will be accepted.

Portable sewing machines should be in working condition.

A $10 donation with each item is requested for shipping.

The South Brunswick Education Association will donate $1,500 to help offset some costs.
