SAYREVILLE – After over two decades working at Sayreville Middle School, a longtime cafeteria worker is retiring from the Sayreville School District.

Diane Zawistoski’s retirement will be effective July 1. The Board of Education honored Zawistoski at a recent meeting.

According to Superintendent of Schools Richard Labbe, Zawistoski has been in the district as a cafeteria worker for 21 years and has spent all of those years at the middle school.

“Diane has been a dedicated worker throughout her years of employment for the food services department,” Labbe said. “She has established an excellent rapport with her fellow co-workers, students and staff at the middle school, as well as the district. Her friendly demeanor always shines through, no matter what job responsibility she takes on in the kitchen. Diane truly has been an asset to our food services department and will be missed when she retires.

“Diane plans to spend more time with her husband, who has recently retired, and is looking forward to the birth of her first grandchild,” he continued. “She also plans to do some traveling. We wish her all the best in her retirement years. On behalf of the Sayreville Board of Education, administration, faculty and staff, we wish Diane an amazing retirement and thank her for the incredible service she has provided our district.”
