• The six high schools in the Freehold Regional High School District will hold graduation ceremonies on June 21. Graduation will be held on the football field at each school, or indoors if the weather is bad. Graduation will be held at 4 p.m. at Howell, Manalapan and Marlboro high schools, and at 6 p.m. at Freehold Township, Colts Neck and Freehold high schools.
• The American Association of University Women Freehold branch will host its annual used book sale from June 20-23 at the First United Methodist Church, 91 W. Main St., Freehold. Residents of all towns are invited to purchase books of all types: gardening, children’s classics, fantasy, mystery, nature, biography, fiction, science fiction, history, psychology and sports. The AAUW book sale has been a tradition in Freehold since 1973. Hours are June 20, 1-8 p.m. (Preview Day, admission $10 for that day only); June 21-22, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and June 23, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Bag Day, $5 for a bag of books). There is no admission charge June 21-23. Most books are priced at 50 cents to $2. Special books are priced higher. Proceeds are used to assist outstanding area high school female seniors and women over 25 who are returning to college to pursue undergraduate or graduate degrees.
• The Freehold Borough K-8 School District Board of Education meetings originally scheduled for July 17 at the Freehold Learning Center, and Aug. 7 and Aug. 21 at the Park Avenue Complex will all be held in the Borough Council meeting room at Borough Hall, 51 W. Main St., Freehold Borough, at 7 p.m. on those dates. The locations have been changed due to ongoing construction work at the Freehold Learning Center and at the Park Avenue Complex. • The Fresh Air Fund is seeking area residents who would like to host a child this summer through the fund’s Friendly Towns Program. The children participate in activities with their host family during their stay.
