ALLENTOWN – The Allentown Public Library, a branch of the Monmouth County Library System, is busy registering and logging in active readers for summer reading clubs that run through Aug. 11.

The Allentown Public Library Association, in support of this annual program, organized a
contest for “kids of all ages” to design bookmarks that would reflect the theme “Libraries Rock” and the fun found at the library, according to a press release. Christina Sabbatini’s bookmark was chosen to be incorporated into the banner that is displayed in front of the library to promote the summer reading program.

Participants can register online at www.monmouthcountylib.org where they can record titles read, and even write reviews. Also, new this year, readers can get the BeanstackTracker smartphone app in Google Play or Apple stores. Enter Monmouth County Library and sync to an account.

Children and families are invited to weekly story times and programs each Thursday. Good Morning Storytime, from 10:30-11 a.m., is for ages 3 and under (with parent/caregiver). Siblings are welcome. Preschool Storytime, 11:15-11:45 a.m., offers stories and activities to encourage pre-reading skills.
