Participants sought for National Night Out in Metuchen

Children of all ages visit with ‘Chase’ and ‘Marshall’ during National Night Out Against Crime held at Papaianni Park in Edison on August 1. The event, which was hosted by the Edison Police Department, included exhibits, demonstrations and entertainment with visits from McGruff the Crime Dog and Paw Patrol.

The Metuchen Police Department will hold a National Night Out event from 5:30-8 p.m. on Aug. 7 at the Metuchen Municipal Pool, 50 Lake Ave., Metuchen.

There will be photos with police, firefighters and EMS members; swimming; food; giveaways; entertainment; games; and prizes.

The Municipal Alliance is asking interested businesses and organizations to participate by hosting a table for advertising, handouts, giveaways, children’s activities and anything safety-related.

Registration is free, but participants must bring their own tables and chairs.

As per order of the Metuchen Police Department, there should be no monetary transactions. Relevant promotional material is acceptable.
