Dowdell Library announces summer fun programs

The Dowdell Library will offer summer clubs for children, teens and adults, who will have a chance to win prizes.

Virtual Reality goggles will be available from 2:30-3:30 p.m. on July 9 for children, followed by an adult program at 5 p.m.

Adults will have the opportunity to play video games on Tuesdays, July 10 and 31, from 6:30-7:30 pm.

A live animal program presented by Paws Discovery Farms will be held from 1:30-3 p.m., July 11.

Family Name That Tune will be held from 3-4:30, July 13.

Bilingual storytime in Spanish and English will be held from 3:30-4:30 p.m. on July 16.

Coming in August for ‘tweens and teens, an innovative animation workshop will be held Tuesdays, Aug. 7, 14, 21 and 28 from 6-8 p.m. Learn how to create your own superhero comic and animation skills. Open to South Amboy residents only. Application is available at the Dowdell Library and online at www.dowdell.org. Limited seating. Registration required.

An End of Summer BBQ will be held from 3-4:30 p.m., Aug. 10, including a scavenger hunt for prizes.

Andy the Armadillo from Texas Roadhouse will visit for storytime from 1-2 p.m. ,Aug. 30.

Library hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday; and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Friday. The library is closed on Saturdays through Labor Day Weekend.
