Middlesex County College names vice president for institutional advancement

Michelle Campbell has been named vice president for institutional advancement at Middlesex County College (MCC), Edison.

Campbell oversees Continuing Education, Marketing Communications, the MCC Foundation, Alumni Engagement, Grants Development, Institutional Research and Advancement Services, according to a press release.

Campbell comes to MCC from Renton Technical College (RTC) in Washington State, where she was executive director of institutional advancement after being promoted from the position of director of grants development. She has served in progressive leadership positions in education and the nonprofit sector, both nationally and internationally. Over her career, she has secured more than $45 million in external grant funding, according to the press release.

While at RTC, Campbell led the college’s five-year strategic plan; served as its accreditation liaison officer; increased external grant funding from $2 million to $6 million annually; and led Achieving the Dream and Guided Pathways, programs designed to increase student success.

Campbell holds a Bachelor of Arts from Minnesota State University, a Master’s from the University of Waikato, and she anticipates receiving her Doctorate in Higher Education Administration from Northeastern University in 2019.
