Presentation to discuss food preservation

The East Brunswick Library and the Friends of the East Brunswick Environmental Commission will present “Food Preservation 101” at 7 p.m. on Aug. 1 at the library, 2 Jean Walling Civic Center Dr., East Brunswick.

The program is led by Shailja Mathur and Rosario Rosa. Mathur is a registered dietitian and an educator for the Department of Family and Community Health Sciences, Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Middlesex County. Rosa is a trained master food preserver, who has trained with the Department of Family and Community Health Sciences, Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Somerset County.

Mathur and Rosa will show the audience how to dry and preserve fresh food, as well as share samples with the audience.

This program is free and open to the public.
