Sayreville announces new food service, transportation directors

SAYREVILLE – Two new district administrators have been hired by the Sayreville Board of Education for the 2018-19 school year.

On June 12, the board approved the employment of Christina Brown as the director of food services and Lori Howell as the director of transportation. Both Brown’s and Howell’s employments became effective at the official beginning of the 2018-19 school year, July 1, and will remain effective through the end of the school year, June 30, 2019.

According to district administrators, Brown will receive a salary of $75,000 and Howell will receive a salary of $65,000.

In addition, board members approved the renewal of district administrators Eric Glock-Molloy, assistant superintendent of information, technology and operations; Erin Hill, business administrator and board secretary; Michael Sallum, supervisor of social studies, related arts and extracurricular activities; and Marilyn Shediack, assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction for 2018-19. Each district administrator’s employment will also be effective for a one-year term, from July 1 through June 30, 2019.

For 2018-19, Shediack will receive a total salary of $171,511, which is comprised of a $165,011 base salary and a $6,500 doctorate stipend; Glock-Molloy will receive a salary of $144,340; and Salum will receive a salary of $94,275.

When the board renewed the employment of the district administrators at the June 12 meeting, Hill was to receive a salary of $146,155 for 2018-19. This was amended by the board on June 26 for Hill to receive a salary of $146,144 for the school year.

The employment of Brown and Howell was approved by all members of the board. Board President Kevin Ciak, board Vice President Anthony Esposito and board members Christopher Callahan, Karen Rubio and John Walsh voted “yes” on all district administrator employment renewals. Board member Lucy Bloom voted “yes” on renewing the employment of Hill and abstained from voting on the renewing the employment of Glock-Molloy, Sallum and Shediack.

Board members Daniel Balka, Phyllis Batko and Thomas Biesiada voted “yes” to renew the employment of Glock-Molloy and Sallum and voted “no” on renewing the employment of Hill and Shediack. Balka, Batko and Biesiada also voted “no” on amending Hill’s salary while Ciak, Esposito, Bloom, Callahan, Rubio and Walsh voted “yes” on amending the salary.
