South Amboy Library announces events for August

The Sadie Pope Dowdell Library will hold 3-D Printer Magic programs from 3-4 p.m. Fridays during August.

A new project will be printed each week including Charizard from the Pokemon franchise, Dragons, a helmet from the Full Metal Alchemist franchise and and a figurine of the character Future Trunks from the Dragonball Z franchise.

Teens are encouraged to take part in an animation workshop from 6-8 p.m. Tuesdays in August. Learn how to create a superhero comic and animation skills. Open to South Amboy residents only. Application is available online at www.dowdell.org. Limited seating. Registration required.

The Family End of Summer BBQ will be held from 3-4:30 p.m. on Aug. 10, where patrons can enjoy refreshments and take part in a scavenger hunt for prizes.

Nostalgia Night will be held from 6:30-8 p.m. Aug. 13 where patrons can listen to vinyl records and watch a film on a 16mm projector.

Whip up something sweet at the Adult Culinary Workshop at 11 a.m. Aug. 14 and learn how to make a quick dessert dip.

Party with Dowdell Library and Andy the Armadillo from Texas Roadhouse on Aug. 30 from 1-2 p.m. Afterward is the End of Summer Prize Party from 2-3:30 p.m. for prizes, refreshments and summer fun for all ages. There will also be a drawing for the adult gift baskets.
