Old Bridge Library holds transgender awareness program

The Old Bridge Library will be the host to its first transgender awareness panel discussion at 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 9 at the library, 1 Municipal Plaza at the corner of Route 516 and Cottrell Road, Old Bridge.

A panel of transgender individuals and those who support them will discuss issues facing the transgender community, share their personal experiences and views, and answer questions.

The event is presented in part by the Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) Jersey Shore Chapter Speakers Bureau.

Best-selling transgender author Seth Rainess (“Real Talk for Teens: A Jump-Start Guide to Gender Transitioning and Beyond”) will be the keynote speaker. Local activists Melissa Fehley and Bobbie McArdle and other special guests will appear with him.
