Sayreville police investigate fatal incident

SAYREVILLE – No charges have been filed following an incident on July 25 that claimed the life of an 83-year-old female pedestrian in Sayreville.

Cecelia Dunn, 83, of Sayreville, died after she was struck by a 2007 Lincoln Town Car driven by an 87-year-old male resident of Sayreville, according to Capt. Daniel Plumacker of the Sayreville Police Department.

The incident took place on Main Street near Pulaski Avenue. Plumacker said there are no traffic lights or crosswalks in the area. Dunn was struck in the road by the vehicle. The captain said that as of July 30, no charges had been filed concerning the incident.
