Bayshore Hebrew Sunday School

The Bayshore Hebrew Sunday School provides a well-rounded Jewish education for boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 13.

Classes are taught by seminary-trained teachers in a warm and caring environment. The curriculum prepares our students to live a Jewish life with a strong focus on Jewish holidays, kashrut, customs and rituals, as well as Hebrew reading.

Our talented teachers instill a positive feeling towards our tradition through the power of song and experiential learning.

For example, during the High Holiday season, each student learns to blow shofar; and during the lesson on Kashrut, students will tour the Kosher Experience in the Aberdeen ShopRite.

For every holiday, students make an arts and crafts project to take home. The class for 11 to 13 year-olds is geared to bat- and bar- mitzvah lessons.

Classes meet every Sunday from 10 AM to noon during the school year. Small classes ensure that each student gets the attention he or she deserves. The school is located within the Young Israel of Aberdeen, 479 Lloyd Rd, in Aberdeen.

Tuition is affordable — $650 for the entire year! No synagogue affiliation is required. Classes start on Sept. 16, 2018. To register or for further information contact the director Rabbi Yaakov Tesser at 908-783-0014.
