MONROE – Recently, Monroe Township police officers have taken several reports from residents reporting attempted scams via the telephone.

Representatives of the IRS should not be calling regarding money owed to them, according to a statement provided by the police. If the caller says a relative is arrested abroad, call a family member to confirm they are safe. The Monroe Township PBA does not solicit donations via telephone.

Any residents that think they are the victim, or potential victim, of a scam should contact police prior to sending money or giving personal information. Call 732-521-0222.
