East Brunswick’s Moth Night, a delayed celebration of National Moth Week, will take place ay 8 p.m. Aug. 11 in the Butterfly Park at Winton Road and Rues Lane, East Brunswick.

Rain date is Aug. 10. Members of the East Brunswick Environmental Commission will post a message on Facebook if the event will be held a day earlier. The event is free and open to the public.

The previously scheduled Moth Night in July was postponed due to inclement weather.

New and experienced “moth-ers” are invited to bring a camera to document moths that land on lighted sheets that will be set up in the park. Sturdy shoes are recommended and attendees should bring a flash light and bug spray. Children can help with “painting” tree trunks with a sweet mixture to attract moths before it gets dark.
