PolarTREC will be live-streamed at Old Bridge Library on Aug. 23

The Old Bridge Library will live stream the PolarTREC (Teachers and Researchers Exploring and Collaborating) at 11 a.m. on Aug. 23 in the large community meeting room, 1 Municipal Plaza at the corner of Route 516 and Cottrell Road, Old Bridge.

Educators Lauren Neitzke Adamo, director of Rutgers University Geology Museum, and Lucas Zoet, assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, will broadcast their field research live from Rhone Glacier in Switzerland. The team is developing ways to predict the sliding speeds of glaciers and ice sheets to help predict glacial change in the polar regions.

The streaming is best suited for ages 13 and up.
